Sims Freeplay Snorkeling Hobby

Snorkelling is a hobby which is completed at the beach.  You must have completed the Life & Legacies quest to open the beach as you will need to use sporty life orbs to build the beach and begin the hobby.

Who can snorkel?

Adults and Teens.

How can you snorkel?

You need to build the beach on Mysterious Island, then build the snorkel kiosk for 8 bronze sporty orbs and 4 silver sporty orbs.

What are the snorkelling options?

There are 3 different areas you can snorkel in and the first time you complete the hobby you will need to unlock the different areas.  You will need to collect the first 6 items in the tide pool to unlock the lagoon, then collect all 6 items in the lagoon to unlock the reef.

Snorkel in tide pool (costs $100) - 1 hour
Snorkel in lagoon (costs $200) - 2 hours
Snorkel at reef (costs $300) - 6 hours

What do you win?
The first time you complete the collection you unlock inflatable seals which can be found in the 'pool items' section of the home store and beach towels which can be found in the 'outdoor furniture' section of the home store.
Additional times you complete the hobby you will win 5 LPs

Surfing is a hobby which is completed at the beach.  You must have completed the Life & Legacies quest to open the beach as you will need to use sporty life orbs to build the beach and begin the hobby.

How do I surf?

 

You need to build the beach (which costs 2 bronze and 2 silver sporty life orbs) over on Mysterious Island and then build the Surf Kiosk with 4 bronze sporty orbs and 1 silver sporty orb.

What are the surfing options?

Surf on Wakebaker Board - 3 hours

Surf on Tooth Clipper Board - 4 hours

Surf on Coconut Buster Board - 5 hours

Surf on Sharkbaiter Board - 6 hours

Surf on Bodhi Board - 7 hours

Surf on Boogaloo Board - 9 hours

The first time you complete the hobby you have to collect the grid in order.  You will need to use the Wakebaker board for 3 hours and find all 3 boards on the collection grid which will unlock the Tooth Clipper board.  Then you will need to use the Tooth Clipper board for 4 hours to collect all 3 boards in the second row to unlock the Coconut Buster board and so on.
Once all the surf boards have been collected you can complete the grid in any order.

First time you complete the whole collection you unlock the surf van which can be bought at the Car Dealership for 20LPs.  This kinda annoys me as I don't think we should have to buy prizes for LPS!

Seashell Collecting is a hobby which is completed at the beach.  You must have completed the Life & Legacies quest to open the beach as you will need to use sporty life orbs to build the beach and begin the hobby.

Toddlers and preteens

How do I collect shells?

Click on the pile of the shells on the beach.  These will move around the beach depending on the time of day.

What are the shell collecting options?

Night (between 12am - 6am) - 10 mins

Dawn (between 6am - 12pm) - 1 hour

Noon (between 12pm - 6pm) - 2 hours

Dusk (between 6pm - 12am) - 3 hours

What are the shell collecting levels?

Unlike other hobbies, it doesn't seem to matter what level your Sim is when collecting the shells.  The important thing with this hobby is the time of day.

There are 6 shells to collect for each of the four times of day, which means 24 shells to collect in all.

Night - Midnight Ark,  Starlight Sea Snail,  Blue Moon Scallop,  Mystical Limpet,  The Speaking Conch,  Panter Black Cowry

First time you complete the whole collection you unlock earrings for preteens found in the store in the accessories section and hats for toddlers found in the wardrobe in the hats section.

Sims Freeplay | Fashion Hunter Hobby | Glam & Glitz Update

Who can be a fashion hunter?

Teens and adults can be fashion hunters.  Up to 5 Sims can complete this hobby in the mall.

How can you be a fashion hunter?

You need to complete the Pretty Little Planters quest and the make up artist hobby.  Once you have completed those you will need to unlock 'Memory Lane' which is the second area of the second floor of Sunset Mall.  Once unlocked you will need to bring as many Sims over to the mall and clean up the area.

Once all cleaned up you will need to build the 4 stores on the right side of the mall - Legit, Mandolins Boutique, Kthxbai! and Electric Kapow.  Only when all of these stores are built will you get access to the fashion hunter hobby.

To take part in the fashion hunter hobby you can either click on the 'sale stalls' in the centre of the mall or the clothes racks outside any of the stores in the mall.

What will I unlock?

As soon as you build the Fashion Hunter Bargain Center a 7 day limited time event. You will need to complete the fashion hunter hobby within the time limit to win the sky diving. You will unlock the Movie Theatre even if you don't complete the hobby within the 7 days.

What are the fashion hunter options?

There is only one option when completing the hobby - 'Hunt for Fashion' for 5 hours 30 mins

What are the fashion hunter collectibles?

As with the make up artist hobby each time you complete a row of the collectibles you unlock a new store in Sunet Mall.

What do I win?

The first time you complete the grid you will win the Movie Theatre and is you complete it within 7 days you will also win the Indoor Skydiving.

What if I can't find a collectible?

Just keep going.  It is completely random which collectible you win each time so there are no special tricks to getting a specific one.  You need to get at least one Sim up to level 6 though to be able to collect them all and you can have up to 5 Sims completing the hobby at one time.

Sims Freeplay | Make Up Artist Hobby | Glitz And Glam Update

The make up artist hobby was released with the Glitz and Glam update in September 2015

Who can be a Make-Up Artist?

Teens and adult Sims.

What do I need for a Sim to become a make-up artist?

You will need to have built the second floor of the Sunset Mall and completed the Pretty Little Planters discovery quest.  Once you have completed the quest you will need to build 4 second floor stores in Sunset Mall and Hangout Central.  Once you have built all of these you will be able to build the Make Up Kiosk.

What will I unlock?

As soon as you build the Make-Up Kiosk a limited time hobby event begins.  You have 7 days to complete the make up hobby to win a vanity.  If you miss out on completing it within the 7 days you will unlock the coin fountain in the mall.

What are the make up options?

To complete the make up hobby you will need 2 Sims.  You click on the make up kiosk with your first Sim and 'Wait for customer' for 10 mins, then, with your second Sim click on the make up kiosk and 'make up' for 4 hours 30 mins.

What are the make up looks?

As you can see from the grid each time you complete a row of the grid you will unlock a new store to build on the second floor of Sunset Mall.

Completing set 1 (Prime Example, Concealed & Contour) will unlock  Y.O.L.O. Wear Fine Threads

Completing set 2 (Blush and Attract, Powder Prince & Brow Specialist) will unlock Bang! Bang! Salon

Completing set 3 (Clump Avoidance, Shadow Ninja & Line It Up) will unlock Everybody Skirts

Completing set 4 (Mascarader, Lash Out & Lip It Up) will unlock Scene And Heard

What do I win?

1st time you complete the grid you win the coin fountain (if you complete it within the 7 day time limit you will also win the ultimate vanity)
2nd - 8th times you complete the grid you win a new make up look

What if I can't find a make up look?

It's completely random which look you win each time you complete the 4 hours 30 min option.  If you can't find one all I can suggest is you keep going - you will get there eventually.

After completing the make up artist hobby you will be able to unlock the second area of Sunset Mall and begin the Fashion hunter hobby.

Sims Freeplay | Survivalist Hobby

The Survivalist hobby is a time limited holy that becomes available when you clear the Picnic Area at Deer Spring Falls.  As soon as you finish clearing the picnic area the 7 day timer pops up.

Who can be a Survivalist?

Teens, adults and seniors.  Only one Sim can complete the hobby at a time.

What do I need for a Sim to be a Survivalist?

You need to complete the Vacationers Guide To The Outdoors quest and then clean the picnic area at Deer Spring Falls.  Once the picnic area has been cleaned up click on the compass in the middle of the picnic area to start the hobby.

What are the Survivalist options?

There is only one option 'Explore' for 2 hours 30 minutes.

What are the Survivalist levels?

1. City Dweller
2. Weekend Camper
3. Decent Explorer
4. Off Road Hiker
5. Trailblazer
6. Wilderness Maven

What do I win?

The first time you complete the hobby you have 7 days to find all the badges and you will win a picnic basket.

If you don't complete the hobby in the first 7 days you will still unlock access to the suspension bridge, lookout post and three bird feeders.

Subsequent times you complete the hobby you will receive 3 LPs

What if I can't find the collectibles?

Finding the badges is completely random and all I can suggest is to keep going.  To help you out you could visit a neighbours town and have another Sim completing the hobby.
