Sims Freeplay | Guide To Toddlers

You've got a baby Sim but you're finding them a bit boring? Let's be honest all they do is lie in their crib. It's time to age them up into a toddler.

How do I create a toddler?

To be able to age up a baby to a toddler you will need to have completed the Quest For Toddlers.  Then you can bake a birthday cake on a stove using an adult Sim.  The cake costs 5LPs and takes 1 day to bake.  Once it has finished a cake icon will appear, click on it.  Then you can click on your baby and select the option to 'Have a Birthday' and they will then age in to a toddler.
If you have completed the Life Dreams & Legacies quest babies will automatically grow into toddlers.

I've got my toddler, now what?

I've gotten some pretty strange looking toddlers so you might want to go ahead and jump to the wardrobe where you can change the hair and clothes to things you like.

How do I look after them?

A toddler has needs the same as an adult Sim however there are certain things they can't do on their own - have a bath for example.
Let's take a look at their needs and how you can keep your toddler in a good mood.
Hunger - another sim can interact with your toddler to 'Give Food' for 3 mins or an adult can cook food and they can grab a plate.
Bladder - they can use the toilet on their own - no more changing smelly nappies!
Energy - much the same as an adult, by sleeping in a bed (there are some toddler specific beds in the toddler section of the home store) or by sitting in a chair.
Hygiene - an adult is required to bathe the toddler and they can't use a shower.

Social - talking to another sim or animals.  Toddlers can not interact with babies.

Fun - playing with special toddler toys including kiddie pool, rocking horse and a sandpit.

If you click on the toddler there will be an option to have birthday, only use this when you want to age them into a preteen.

Can a toddler do any hobbies?

Sims Freeplay | Toddler Playhouse Hobby

Who can do this hobby?
Toddlers.

What do I need for a Sim to take part in the Playhouse hobby?

You need to build the swim center to use the playhouse over by the kids pool the first time you complete this hobby. Once the collection has been completed once you can buy the playhouse for 20LPs and place in any home

What will I unlock?

When you complete the teddy collection for the first time you will unlock the toddler playhouse which you can place in any house.

What are the options?
  • 2 Little Bears - 50 minutes
  • Cat Holiday - 1 hour
  • Monster Mansion - 2 hours
  • Supersim Hideout - 4 hours
The first time you do this hobby you will only be able to access the 2 Little Bears option.  Each time you complete a row by finding the 3 toys you will unlock the next option.

What are the levels?

  1. Reservoir cat
  2. Cat person
  3. Citizen cat
  4. Lasagne ninja cat
  5. Simshire cat
  6. Catspeare
How do I collect the toys?

Click on the playhouse at the swim center and select an option. When the Sim has finished an exclamation mark appears, you need to click the '!', your Sim will have collected a toy.
.
What toys are there to collect?

You will collect different toys depending upon which option you choose.

2 Little Bears - Grinn N. Bearit, Stronglive Bear, Simulator Bear
Cat Holiday - Catspeare, Reservior Cat, Citizen Cat
Monsters Mansion - Simzilla, The Wolf Sim, Dr Frankensim
Supersim Hideout - Captain Simtown, Judge Sim, Supersim

What do I win?
  • First time you complete the collection you unlock the toddler playhouse to put in your houses
  • Second time you receive 6 LPs
What if I can't find one of the toys?

All I can suggest is that you keep going. Collecting the toys is completely random and there is no special trick to collecting them quicker.

Sims Freeplay | In Da Clubhouse Quest

Level Required | 14
Unlocks | Toddler hobby
Time Limit | 3 days
Prize | Toddler trike

This quest unlocks a hobby specifically for toddlers - the Playhouse hobby.  All previous quests must be completed before this one unlocks.  You have 3 days to complete the quest to unlock the limited time prize of big wheeled trikes.  You can still complete the quest after the 3 days but you won't unlock the trikes.

This is quite an easy task to complete within the 3 day time limit and it's good to get a hobby that toddlers can take part in.

You must use the playhouse at the swim center as you won't be able to purchase one from the home store until you have completed the Playhouse hobby.

Completing this quest unlocks Preparing For Preteens.

Sims Freeplay | Quest For Toddlers

Level Required | 12
Unlocks | Toddlers
Time limit | 5 days
Prize | Dress up chest

This quest becomes available at level 12 after completing the Need For Steed quest and all previous quests.  It allows you to develop your babies into toddlers.  A toddler is needed for In Da Clubhouse which is a quest coming up soon so I recommend as soon as you complete this quest you turn one of your babies into a toddler in order to give you a head start for that quest.

The prize for completing the quest in the time limit is a cute dress up chest for your toddlers which includes various dressing up clothes including a bee, a robot, a panda or a dinosaur.

The next quest is All Going Swimmingly, which becomes available at level 13 and will unlock swimming pools.
