Sims Freeplay | Romance Update Help

The Romance Update on 1st February 2016 has brought so many new and exciting things to Sims Freeplay it's easy to get confused.  Let's break it down and see what we need to do.

We have new Community Event which lasts 7 days.  This is the main task of the update which gives you access to the romantic, tropical island getaway but it is set out in a completely different way to all the other quests and events we have previously had.  There are a number of small tasks you need to complete before you can access the island, which include buying a banana tree and collecting some bananas.  This is all explained very well within the game so just follow along with the screen pop ups.

Once you have collected 50 bananas you can build the Sea Voyage Boat which is by the bridge on the Sim Town map.  This is pretty much an instant build and will take you over the the paradise island getaway.

Once you're over at the island that's when the real fun starts and it can begin to get slightly confusing.    On the island you need to begin clearing the area (similar to the Sunset Mall or restaurant clean ups) I recommend getting 10 Sims over to clear the island to complete it as fast as possible.  With each clear up you complete, you will win 'Constructor Coins' You will need these 'Constructor Coins' to build some of the areas on the island so it's important you collect them.

You need to plant fruit trees at one of your homes and get your Sims collecting them.  The first tree that is available is bananas and you will unlock the other trees as you progress throughout the event.
Collecting bananas takes 4 hrs 30 mins and you will collect 500 bananas each time.  Try to go back to your game as often as possible to collect bonus bananas.

There are 2 different progress bars - the personal progress and the community progress. each have a yellow progress bar which shows you how far away you are from your next goal.

The personal progress  tab shows the different island locations you can unlock, your current inventory of fruits and constructor coins and if you scroll down information about all the island locations.

The community progress tab is a completely new idea for Sims Freeplay.  Each time you collect fruit in your game it is added towards a big pot of fruit that the whole community of Sims Freeplay players have collected.  The yellow bar along the bottom shows how far away the whole community is from winning the next prize.  You can't complete this on your own, we have to all do it together and collect as much fruit as we can.

The prizes for the community are
  • Rustic Dining
  • Resort Dining
  • Relaxed Seats
  • Garden Bar
  • Outdoor Set
  • Beach Wear
Even if you complete all your personal goals quickly you should continue collecting fruit as you will be helping out the SPF community to win those prizes.

A big change for this event is that speeding up tasks costs Social Points instead of Lifestyle Points.

I will be updating this with any new information as I work through the quest but please feel free to ask any questions you may have about the event or head over to my YouTube channel where I'll be posting regular update videos.

Sims Freeplay | Romantic Getaway Update is released

The Sims Freeplay Romantic Getaway update has been released worldwide and is available in the App Store.

I've updated my game and the information I can give you at the moment is that we have a single icy door, Jacks Icy Door available for 3,000 simoleons.  There will be a pop up when you enter the game for the first time after the update which tells you your Sims can now get married at any location and another pop up that says Woodworking is now available from level 6.

There is a new location on Sim Town map which is a boat that can take us off to a Tropical Romance Island but, at the time of writing, there is nothing we can do but to wait for the next event.
