Sims Freeplay | Baby Steps Update

Another update for Sims Freeplay is coming out on July 27 2015.

Fire monkeys released the official trailer on July 23 and it looks a good one.

Babies have long been a complaint for many Simmers - they just don't do anything right! Well all that's about to change with this update. Let's take a look at what's new

Babies can crawl, try to walk or create mischief at the dining table
A new quest - Nanny Knows Best
A new hobby for babies - Musical Expression hobby
Super Toddler Secret Mission quest available from 13 August
Limited edition prizes including cartoon hero costumes, baby jumpers and cute overalls
Another new hobby, this time for toddlers - Toddler Finger Painting.

It sure looks like babies won't be boring anymore.

Sims Freeplay | Long Hair Review

After completing the Long Hair Event you gain access to 9 new long hair styles which, for me, are a welcome addition to Sims Freeplay.

Each hairstyle comes in 4 colours - black, blonde, brown and ginger.

You can find all the hairstyles you unlock in the wardrobe, salon or create a Sim.

Let's take a look at each one.

Long shoulder pony - This is a cute simple style styled with a pale blue headband and blue hair tie. The pony sits slightly off to the side and hangs nicely over the shoulder.

Full fringe pony - I like this hairstyle and the fringe is much longer than the other hairstyle with a fringe - in my opinion this longer fringe looks much better.

Cornrows - I didn't like this hairstyle at first but it has grown on me. I do think there's not quite enough hair on the top of the head though as there are huge gaps where you can see the head.  Black is definitely my favourite colour.

Braided ponytail - One of my favourites. It definitely looks better in the lighter colours as in the darker colours you can't really tell it's a braid.

Straight over ear - I like this hairstyle in brown and black but I'm not so keen on it in the other colours.  It also looks much better from one angle than the other - the side where the hair comes in front of the ear.

Bunches - I love this hairstyle. It's more mid length than long but I think it's adorable, especially in ginger.

Low ponytail - This hairstyle kinda annoys me as I really like it but I just don't understand those little pieces that fall in front of the ear.

Straight - This is probably the simplest of the hairstyles and probably a top 3 for me.  I like how a small section of hair comes forward in front of the shoulders and it's pretty similar to how I wear my hair most days.

Straight with bangs - I quite like this hairstyle although I do think the bangs could have been slightly longer.

Did you unlock all the hairstyles? Which one's your favourite?

I'd love to see pictures of your Sims with their new hairstyles.  You can post them to my Facebook page - Greenoid Gemzicle's Facebook

Sims Freeplay Long Hair Event Is Back Again!

It's coming back again! For anyone who didn't get the event before or is newer to the game, now's your chance to get 9 new long hairstyles for your Sims.
The event originally came out back in August 2014 and was released again in March 2015 and it's making a welcome return on Monday 20th July 2015.

For those who don't know what the heck I'm talking about, check out my original Ringlets Of Fire post.

This one definitely requires some perseverance as you have to complete the Fashion Designer hobby collection 9 times to win all the hairstyles.

My tips for collecting all the hairstyles
  • start preparing now - get at least one Sim at level 6 Fashion Designer so it will be easier to fill the grid.  Although I would recommend getting a few up to level 6 to make it easier.
  • During the event use as many Sims as you can to do the Fashion Design hobby.
  • Choose the 'Design Fashion' selection for 10 mins over and over again.
  • Have multiple Fashion Design studios set up in one house.
Good luck! Let me know how you get on.

Sims Freeplay | Survivalist Hobby

The Survivalist hobby is a time limited holy that becomes available when you clear the Picnic Area at Deer Spring Falls.  As soon as you finish clearing the picnic area the 7 day timer pops up.

Who can be a Survivalist?

Teens, adults and seniors.  Only one Sim can complete the hobby at a time.

What do I need for a Sim to be a Survivalist?

You need to complete the Vacationers Guide To The Outdoors quest and then clean the picnic area at Deer Spring Falls.  Once the picnic area has been cleaned up click on the compass in the middle of the picnic area to start the hobby.

What are the Survivalist options?

There is only one option 'Explore' for 2 hours 30 minutes.

What are the Survivalist levels?
  1. City Dweller
  2. Weekend Camper
  3. Decent Explorer
  4. Off Road Hiker
  5. Trailblazer
  6. Wilderness Maven

How do I collect Survivalist badges?

What are the badges?

What do I win?

The first time you complete the hobby you have 7 days to find all the badges and you will win a picnic basket.

If you don't complete the hobby in the first 7 days you will still unlock access to the suspension bridge, lookout post and three bird feeders.

Subsequent times you complete the hobby you will receive 3 LPs

What if I can't find the collectibles?

Finding the badges is completely random and all I can suggest is to keep going.  To help you out you could visit a neighbours town and have another Sim completing the hobby.
