Sims Freeplay | Guide To Toddlers

You've got a baby Sim but you're finding them a bit boring? Let's be honest all they do is lie in their crib. It's time to age them up into a toddler.

How do I create a toddler?

To be able to age up a baby to a toddler you will need to have completed the Quest For Toddlers.  Then you can bake a birthday cake on a stove using an adult Sim.  The cake costs 5LPs and takes 1 day to bake.  Once it has finished a cake icon will appear, click on it.  Then you can click on your baby and select the option to 'Have a Birthday' and they will then age in to a toddler.
If you have completed the Life Dreams & Legacies quest babies will automatically grow into toddlers.

I've got my toddler, now what?

I've gotten some pretty strange looking toddlers so you might want to go ahead and jump to the wardrobe where you can change the hair and clothes to things you like.

How do I look after them?

A toddler has needs the same as an adult Sim however there are certain things they can't do on their own - have a bath for example.
Let's take a look at their needs and how you can keep your toddler in a good mood.
Hunger - another sim can interact with your toddler to 'Give Food' for 3 mins or an adult can cook food and they can grab a plate.
Bladder - they can use the toilet on their own - no more changing smelly nappies!
Energy - much the same as an adult, by sleeping in a bed (there are some toddler specific beds in the toddler section of the home store) or by sitting in a chair.
Hygiene - an adult is required to bathe the toddler and they can't use a shower.

Sims-Freeplay-Toddlers

Social - talking to another sim or animals.  Toddlers can not interact with babies.

Fun - playing with special toddler toys including kiddie pool, rocking horse and a sandpit.

If you click on the toddler there will be an option to have birthday, only use this when you want to age them into a preteen.

Can a toddler do any hobbies?

There are 5 packs and each contains sleepwear for different ages of Sims i.e Toddlers, Preteens, Teens, Seniors and Adults.

    Sims-Freeplay-Sleepwear-Event

Sims Freeplay has been warning us for the past few days we needed to have the mall built with this pop up:

so I hope you took notice and got it built otherwise this event is going to be very difficult for you to complete in time.

If you haven't built Sunset Mall, get started straight away, as you also have to have completed the Sunset Mall quest in order to be able to take part in this event.

So what do you have to do?

    Perform a modelling pose - 3 hours 15 mins
Send a Sim to the mall and have them achieve one pose in the Catwalk Modelling hobby.

Complete 12 modelling poses - basically complete the modelling hobby.
    This unlocks sleepwear for toddlers.

Complete a second modelling pose set - complete the modelling hobby for the second time.

Crossy Road Unlocking The Piggy Bank

There's a little character that's been spinning around at the end of my Crossy Road characters for some time now and I thought it was time to unlock it.

I am of course talking about the Piggy Bank.

    Crossy-Road-Piggy-Bank-How-To-Get-More-Coins

The Piggy bank is the only character in the game that can not be won through the prize machine or other methods - if you want it you're gonna have to pay for it.  And it's not cheap. I paid £2.99 as I'll in the UK but I believe its $3.99USD or €3.59EUR.

    So is it worth it?

The benefits of unlocking the Piggy Bank are
    • you get a bonus of 1000 coins
    • there are red coins on the map which are worth 5 coins each as well as the normal yellow ones worth 1 coin
    • For each ad you watch you receive 40 coins instead of the usual 20
Watch the Piggy Bank in action down below

Personally, I don't believe it's worth the money.  What do you think?

Sims Freeplay | Multi Story Renovations

    Level Required | 17
    Unlocks | 2nd & 3rd floors
    Time Limit |  6 days
Prize | Elevators & Escalators pack

After completing An Alien Concept: Weather Machine quest and reaching level 17 the Multi Story Renovations quest unlocks.  This is a really awesome quest which will unlock 2nd and 3rd stories for your houses and even elevators and escalators for those lazy Sims who don't want to use the stairs if you complete it within the 6 day time limit.

Personally I found it quite difficult to complete within the 6 days and had to use some saved LPs to finish it in time as I really wanted the limited time prize.

    Sims-Freeplay-Community-Center
    1st Floor Community Center

    Sims-Freeplay-Community-Center
    2nd Floor Community Center

Here are the stairs and elevators on offer after completing the quest and they're pretty pricey!  I'd say it's definitely worth trying to complete the quest in time though.  Although, as I already mentioned it's not an easy quest to complete in time especially if you have to save up for the community center at the start like I did.

Completing this quest unlocks the Woodworking hobby and also the Karate and Ballet hobby for preteens. It also unlocks the Teenagers quest.
