Sims Freeplay | Outdoors Update | Opening The Picnic Area

After completing The Vacationer's Guide To The Outdoors quest the picnic area of Deer Spring Falls becomes available. (Note: this only becomes available on/after 26 June 2015)

To open the picnic area you need to click on the gate and build it.  Once you've opened it there's a clean up operation you need to complete (much like Sunset Mall and the Restaurant).  I recommend getting over as many Sims as possible to complete the clean up as it will speed it up. 

The following tasks must be completed:

• 1x trash 15 mins
• 7x trash 45 mins
• 3x trash 1 hour 30 mins
• 1x broken lantern 3 hours 30 mins
• 6x jerrycan 4 hours 30 mins
• 1x trash 6 hours 30 mins
• 2x trash 8 hours 30 mins
• 2x gas bottles 10 hours 30 mins

Once you've finished cleaning up the area you can begin the Survivalist hobby by tapping on the survivalist gear.  There is a 7 day limited time hobby prize which unlocks a picnic blanket in the area.  To win the picnic blanket you must find all of the Survivalist collectibles within 7 days of unlocking the hobby.

Now the picnic area is built and cleaned up you can build different areas:

• birdfeeder near the toilets 3 hours 30 mins - 25,000
• birdfeeder by BBQ 4 hours 30 mins - 30,000
• birdfeeder between bridge and picnic 5 hours 30 mins 40,000
• lookout spot 12 hours 30 mins 65,000

The next area of Deer Spring Falls is across the bridge and will be available from Thursday 9 July.
